On November 4th 2010 the Society held a special dinner at Mansion House, Jesmond in Newcastle Upon Tyne to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its founding. Among the guests were:

Geoffrey Berriman - the new Finnish consul.

Christopher Souter - the former Swedish consul.

Caroline Theobald - the new Swedish consul.

The Mark Elliot - the Coscan president.

Irene Scobie - one of our founder members

Guests assembled in the entrance hall where they saw some old photographs of the Society before going into dinner, during which they heard speeches including those from the following:

Vincent Håkansson

Alfhild Wellborne,

Hans-Christian Andersen

Mark Elliot

Christopher Souter

During the dinner Hans-Christian Andersen was made an Honorary Life Member and afterwards tea and coffee were served in a drawing room where a pianist played throughout the evening. This was a most enjoyable evening held in splendid surroundings and the guests enjoyed reflecting on the many events held throughout the 60 years.

Some photographs of the event are shown below.
